CHEM’s integration for smart public housing,Smart Grids 2019, APEC Energy Smart Communities Initiative, ESCI, Best Practices Awards Programof Gold Award , has been awarded by Aggregate Smart Public Housings to Develop the First Virtual Power Plant in Chinese Taipei

In 2018, CHEM took the lead in Smart Technology of Xinglong Public Housing Area 2 - The Xinglong Project, organized by Department of Urban Development, Taipei City Government, and we had successfully developed Taiwan’s first large-scaled smart public housing, powered by green energy.
In 2019, CHEM won the Gold Award of Smart Grids 2019, APEC Energy Smart Communities Initiative, ESCI, Best Practices Awards Program by participating the above-mentioned Xinglong Project. CHEM’s leading position in technology R&D of smart micro-grid has been proudly proven and is surpassing excellence internationally among the other 63 competitors from 17 economic bodies.
The demonstration pilot projects introduce a demand management control, including Smart Meters, House Energy Management System (HEMS) and Building Energy Management System (BEMS). Power generation from solar energy, energy storage and Smart EV charger are also integrated to form a well-established green energy micro-grid system. Applications (phone apps) are also available for energy managers and residents on-site to look into demand records, monitoring and management purpose. The accumulated results are then facilitated in Taipower Demand Response Bidding Platform. This has served as the important milestone especially for on-site users with low-pressure energy demand.
This program is the effort of contribution from partners and CHEM is responsible for the hands-on execution of the whole program. The Department of Urban Development, Taipei City Government and National Energy Program-Phase II, NEP-II, Ministry of Science and Technology take the role for coordinating. Taiwan Institute of Economic Research is in charge of the strategic planning. Taipower Company serves with the Taipower Demand Response Bidding Platform with the software support from National Cheng Kung University.
Virtual power plant development is our core vision, and our mission is to develop and expand it to areas where the local power systems have been encountering difficulties and eventualities in power usage. Winning the bid for execution has proven the highest recognition for CHEM’s technology development and quality, while at the same, has served as guidepost significance for the power industry.
